My point? The point is people need to stop getting upset just because they have a grade 6 English speaking level. That's one grade below native speakers...

Just because elementary school uses 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, etc it doesn't mean that a grade 6 English course is only for 6th year children. It's for people who can speak at a grade 5 level...

My original comment postulated why this error can occur so often, and I theorized that it has a higher likelihood of occurring in the speech patterns of people with English reading levels below grade 6. Then people got offended.

Nothing about this was offensive. It is an exercise in determining the route cause of a comment error.
