How I charge my 85D at my apartment

I think it's up to bothering your apartment complex and having them put in a couple EV chargers and reserve those spots for EVs only - it wouldn't necessarily be just for you, but for any EVs who happen to live there.

I appreciate where you're coming from, I really do, and that's why I did mention the possibility of working with the community to get something installed at the clubhouse. It's definitely in a location where many of us would be able to share it.

I feel like you're not hearing when I say I'm typically home 10 weekends a year. Not weeks. Not months. Weekends. I am home so rarely that the post office sometimes starts rejecting my mail because the PO Box I pay for is overstuffed. I know this is foreign to a lot of people, believe me most people don't get my life when I explain it. I typically live in two hotels a week for about 45 weeks a year. I'm not buying a house so I can have a proper EVSE setup and I'm hard pressed to pony up the cash for a proper shared EVSE setup when a free L3 is 10 minutes away and an SC is 20 minutes away.

Clients are happy to pay for rental cars for me, but not for the gas and tolls when I drive 3-5 hours away to a different place each weekend. Bringing my own car is the simplest solution. I think bringing a Tesla would be amazing.

Seriously, there would be so few opportunities for me to charge at my condo or in the community each year that spending a thousand bucks or so to set up a real EVSE I might use four times a year is a tough sell for me. I know people love charging up in their garage every night. I don't have a garage and I spent about 20 nights a year at home. Instead, I will be spending a lot more time roaming the country, working God knows where, hitting up SCs wherever I can find them.

Don't worry about me draping the cord down the sidewalk. That would only happen if I somehow let the SoC drop below 10 miles, something I never foresee happening. It's just good to know with 15 and 13 amp cables, I won't burn down the car or the condo building.
