How close have you come to drowning?

On holiday with my girlfriend in Cyprus. Took a cruise boat which stopped at Blue Lagoon for everybody to have a refreshnment swim. Water was so clear that it seemed like there is maximum 1-1.5m but in reality it was around 4m deep. My girlfriend doesnt swim but kept asking me why I am not going. Obviously I never told her that I cant really swim well, but didnt want to admit it so I decided to jump in.... After not being able to touch the ground with my feet, I panicked and started swimming as fast as I could to the shore (around 50m). Somehow I survived and then I pretended to just relax on the beach while actually being nervous thinking how I am going to get back on the boat...

Apparently it looked funny how other people were just chilling in the water and I was the only one to make noise and splash the water trying to get to the boat...
