How do I convince the wife the house we are thinking of buying isnt haunted?

A little backstory.... We moved to Phoenix 35 years ago to be able to afford a home and make a good life for ourselves and our future children. And it worked out. The problem is the working class neighborhood we have lived in for 35 years isnt a nice place to be any longer. The nearby grocery stores have become thrift stores. The once trendy restaurants are now taco shops. Since we have retired we want to relocate to a small town. About 100 miles from Phoenix is a small town with a 106 year old home in great condition. The home is wonderful... the location kinda sux... Its on a busy street corner, across the street from the high school, across the street the other way from a popular restaurant... The home is a large Craftsman built in 1910. It is everything the wife and I have talked about finding for the past 41 years. So Friday we can sign papers to buy the place. My 84 year old very religious mother inlaw who has never seen the place, or even been in the town feels the place is haunted. She has put the fear of a haunting into my wife. I told the wife if a haunting was a common problem there would be a line in buying contract just like the lead paint disclosure. Please dont comment saying you know hauntings are a real thing. I have searched for years in some of the scariest buildings in Phoenix. I have looked HARD and didnt find anything I could not explain. What can I say to help her? What is a convincing argument against a haunted house?
