How do I cope with these terrifying losses? I bought literally at the peak in January.

At some point in all our lives, we will make an investing mistake or endure a significant down turn. You’re only hope is that this happens when you’re your young and not close to the end of your career.

You’re very young. You’ve just learned some key investment lessons that will serve you well over time.

1) don’t invest more than you can 2) of what you can invest, invest the majority in something you can use, like a property, invest the next chunk in lower risk investments and invest the money that really wouldn’t change your life to lose in risky assets like equities and crypto 3) diversify. Don’t invest it all in one asset class or one bet. Find negatively correlated assets so when one goes down, another goes up 4) remember you’re not a pro. You know nothing. So seek advice from people who are legally obligated to provide you a duty of care for any investment that will put you in a state of duress if it goes wrong 5) know when you’re late. If everyone is talking about it, you’re already too late 6) don’t invest in crypto unless you believe in crypto

For now, just hold tight. Hope that it rebounds. Don’t sell unless you have to. Don’t buy the bottom. Just hope that you can recover something. Think of it like an investment; set your target, e.g. 60% recovery, and sell once you get there. Don’t get greedy waiting to get it all back unless you can afford to lose everything.
