How to Create STUNNING Sunset Photos - Adobe Lightroom 6 cc Landscape Photography Editing Tutorial

Has it ever occurred to you that not everyone post processes their photos to give it high contrast, HDR'd to death, fake colours, fake light etc? Post processing is to bring out the colours to make it seem more like real life, because the world is vibrant and colourful and the plethora of colours can't be shown when displayed SOOC. Maybe it's your life that's dull and that you can't see the colours of our universe, or that you really do not know how to carry out post-processing correctly. And I can't help you with that. You have to see it on your own.

Does it not occur to you that when people say "why can't I take...", it's because they realise the colours of their photos don't exactly match up with the world, so they want to know why. And that's when people tell them about post-processing, and how it's going to bring their photography to the next level.

Honestly, if you think that post-processing results in high contrast, HDR'd to death, fake colours, fake light, you really need to look at it again. Maybe you have the view of the 2000s, when people like to crank up the settings to set everything on full blast. Give it another try. Try even Snapseed on your phone. You will see how it has changed all these years.

Post-processing doesn't make photos fake. It's the people utilising post-processing that make it fake. Professionals, and even experienced amateurs, will be able to control the saturation, contrast, vibrance, highlights, shadows and everything else so make a photo life-like.

It is very unfair to generalize post-processing just because of the few photos on the Internet. There is a lot more to it.

One day, go to the beach and catch a nice sunset. Go take a walk through a forest and enjoy the fauna and flora. Go take a hike up a hill and view the world from above. Most importantly, appreciate the view and the colours.

You will see that there are a lot more colours you can see than you can capture.
