How to deal/Behave with an addict ?

It's sad to see loved ones battling addiction. A smoker is technically an "addict" but generally refers to hard drugs and alcohol. I grew up with the hard drug addicts and they truly ruin the lives of people around them.

How is her smoking hurting you directly, other than her health problems may cause her to die early?

All of the drug addicts I know/knew also smoked, but it was the least of anyone's worries. I am addicted to nicotine also.

I am very sorry she is addicted though, and that it may shorten her life. But the truth is that an addict will not quit unless they really want to. She may say she wants to, in order to please you, but it's a lie. Every addict will lie to protect their addiction. It is not an indicator of her character, but simply the diseased brain of an addict will cause them to lie.

I know it's hard but the best thing to do for an addict is to be kind. You can explain how you are unhappy with the smoking, but do not act judgmental. She needs to know she is loved. Belittling an addict only makes it worse.

I hope she gets well, my best wishes to you.
