Why and how did community impacted you !

I used to be very closed off about this topic but I've grown to realize that my past is nothing more than a learning experience that I can grow from, if you care to hear my tale, I'll gladly discuss. But this show actually helped me tremendously. It helped me heal and understand trauma that I went through in my own life. It was almost spooky how coincidentally a lot of the plot points reflected my own life. I felt as if the show was literally made for me. Without getting into the gritty detail of it all as not bum everyone out, I went through a traumatic episode that ended me in a behavioral hospital for a couple weeks when I was 19. I soon recovered and was just devoid of any expression. Again, coincidentally, upon my leaving, was actually when I decided to go back to college. Community College, of all places. I remember coming home from class one day and instantly getting hooked by the pillows vs forts episode. Specifically the scene where they explain the names of the buildings. It was exactly the show I needed to give me all the laughs I needed. I related so much to the feelings these characters had about the current situations and circumstances they found themselves in because I was their age and literally doing the same things. I found myself relating to Abed specifically. His traumas and they way he overcame them helped me overcome mines. The episodes about his mental breakdowns were especially taxing for me, but nonetheless, I overcame them just as he did. I learned many, many, many life lessons from the series. Weirdly enough, the series endings actually correlated to when I ended college as well. So in that way, I feel like I was a part of Greendale all along. It's funny because I used to be president for a religious club in high school and I remember my first speech was about the word "community", years before I even knew about the show. The point of that speech was "there is no community without unity". To top off all those coincidences, the one I liked the most was the fact that the community college I went to is named "Delta". As in, the Delta cubes. :D
