How did you DISCOVER(Y) Daft Punk? What made you stay?

Two very odd places originally. I was fairly young at the time but the he first place was my dad's Kanye West CD, because my mum decided to buy it for him for whatever reason. I liked the song Stronger, not for Kanye's rapping but for the funny robotic sound in the beginning and the cool backing track.

Maybe a year after, I got this game on the Nintendo DS called 'Boogie'. It's a really awful dance type game and my favourite game to play on it was this song called 'One More Time'.

I'm a bit older at this point and Tron: Legacy is announced to come out. I'm pretty excited as I really like the original Tron and sci-fi stuff in general. I hear the some of the music in the trailers which I really like. It's by this funny duo called 'Daft Punk'. They wear these weird helmets too, which I thought was strange. I listen through the whole score and generally very much enjoy it.

I then left it for a couple years until after Get Lucky comes out. I hear the song 'Music Sounds Better With You' which is a funny song I seem to remember from when I was much younger and look into it. It's by these three blokes, one of which being this 'Thomas Bangalter'. Press his wikipedia link and the first thing I see is the Daft Punk helmet.

I later find out Get Lucky is also by this Daft Punk and thought that I should probably listen to some of their albums. I started with RAM, which probably wasn't a great choice honestly, as I was expecting cool electronica and house stuff but ended up with this weird 70s disco funk.

Next I went to Discovery and what's the first thing I hear? One More Time. I keep going and find Harder better Faster Stronger. I realised these guys had been responsible for some of my favourite songs ever without me realising it.

A year or so later and I own basically all of their albums.
