How did you go from not knowing what you wanted to do with your life to knowing?

I've only really figured kind of what I want to do extremely recently but what I do now I enjoy a lot.

I'm 17 years old and had just finished my last year at secondary school and got extremely average results in my GCSEs. I didnt even bother looking at any options after I'd got my results because I knew that I wanted to go to Sixth Form, get A Levels and go straight into the world of work and hopefully everything would fall into place for me. This was however not the case. Sixth form was too demanding of me, given I was also too lazy to put much effort into trying to do homework, study, revise whatever I had to do to try and achieve some good results in my first year. About the time exams were coming around, I was sat thinking how fucked I was and how I'd have to resit this year and how I'd effectively wasted a year of my life doing this year of sixth form and I'd have absolutely nothing to show for it. It was also about this time that one of my friends who'd beeen going to sixth form had signed up for a program that seeks out appreniceships in different fields. He'd signed up for the Business Administration ield and had got the job after just his firts interview. After him telling me all about this, I decided this could definitely be something that I would want to do plus I'd be getting paid (albeit tiny apprenticeship wage) and getting a qualification out of it. I signed up before I had my exams and got accpeted in after completing a few standard tests on English and Mathematics skills. Once that had all been finalised, they rang me up and said they had a couple of interviews for me to attend at various businesses who are looking for apprentices to work for them and gain experience and employment from them. After having a second interview with a company, I got the phone call stating I'd got the apprenticeship and they'd like to offer me a job working there in the Business Administration side of things. Been working here since 1st September and still enjoy coming in to work, sitting at my desk, doing daily tasks, Redditing and other various work activities. I never thought I would've went from knowing from certain failing my A Levels to having a full time job within the space of about 4 months. I'd advise anyone who is not sure about what they want to do after Year 11 to seek out an apprenticeship company and sign up. They do all the hard work of finding vacancies, all you have to do is turn up to the interviews and ace them :)
