Well to answer your question im currently on 5 years probation for some theft misdemeanors and felonies. I picked up a new charge for another theft and had gotten arrested, bonded out and obviously got the MTR as well. I lawyered up and he was able to get all new warrants dismissed and MTRs by both felony and misdemeanor court and was offered just 1 year probation running concurrent with my probation I'm already on for my new charge. I was very close to going to SAFP as well but difference is I was always reporting, never came out dirty and didn't go on the run so really the best thing your boyfriend can do is lawyer up and basically pray the DA and Judge will consider rehab and then maybe release him with additional probation. But since he was on the run for a couple years the judge could say he can't trust the defendant on probation anymore since he did pick up new charges as well. Basically maybe rehab and or a ankle monitor while on probation but idk here are my thoughts.
