The cohort is over 60% larger this year than it had been years prior.

In my advisor’s defense [they] are in the process of placing over fifty students singlehandedly this Fall. I imagine it is a nightmare and I have complete empathy. What the department/admin did to this person is horrible.

That being said, my advisor has only tried to place me in upscale boutique private practices. I’ve made it very clear I will go anywhere — agency setting, inpatient/outpatient, private practice, etc — I think my advisor is so overwhelmed she doesnt have the bandwith to actually listen to me and instead has made assumptions about what will best suit me.
