How does AH-64 Pilot (WO) life compare to Infantry life, and is it worth passing on medical school for?

Thanks. I’ll add my two cents about hpsp since I did a lot of homework and my friend is doing it. Only do it if you are certain you want to be an army doc. Don’t do it for the money. Everyone takes out loans for med school and every pays them back. Sure you won’t, but the difference is you’ll be stuck making half or a third of what civilians make. It’s also a good option if you want to do primary care. But even then a lot of schools are offering full rides for those who commit to primary care. But if you wanna be an ortho or something, you’ll make 150 maybe as an army doc while civilians are making 300ish.

Coming from an ivy unfortunately means you’ll have a leg up in interviews but you’ll still have to do well on the mcat to get into a top 20. It’s no guarantee.

On a personal side note I haven’t met anyone from Harvard that was really that impressive. I’d try not to lean too heavy on the ivy thing because a lot of them just come across as douchey/elitist. Not to mention a lot of the Ivy’s have grade inflation, but I digress...

Just some food for thought. Good luck with whatever you do.
