I guess my question is more so about the logistics, not the money. Say I had info tie funds. Do I go to the AHL and say I want to start my own team or is there a cap on how many teams can play in the league and have to buy a team feom a somewhere else? Is there a way to survey a city or to show that we are a good candidate for a team and would be a better host than their current city? Stuff like that interests me.

On my city, we have an entire arena that hasn't been used in a couple years that's just sitting there. It used to be for our NBA team, but they threatened to leave if we didn't make them a new area (which we did [still pissed about that]). I feel like the old arena would be great for them. Plus we already have an NBA team, AAA Baseball team, and a USL team which may become a MLS team. It seems as if the love of sports is here.
