How does CO₂ warm the Earth? How do we know it's not the sun?

4 threads of replies to my one comment archie.

If you don't want people responding to you, don't post comments.

Water is the main driver of climate.

No, it's not, and you have not provided a single citation to that effect.

u/lightning has it wrong as well

No, he's right like me.

At night the Earth is not warm enough to radiate at 2.7um

Sure it is. Not a lot, just like during the day. It's okay, because the absorption peak of CO2 is ~10-12µm.

You went lukewarm archie.

That doesn't make any sense.

2.7um is associated with ~32C while 4.3um is associated with ~-40C

Both temperatures provide a range of radiation emissions, and 8C is not enough to make much of a difference. The two curves on the graph you provided have a 50C difference and they are nearly identical.

Also, the warmer the temperature the shorter the wavelength. You really don't understand the science behind this, do you?

Water vapour is increasing. "We" aren't doing it.

We are in the sense that the only reason WV is increasing is that we are warming the atmosphere with our CO2 emissions.

That one is just so fucking stupid that I have to quote it.

It's not stupid. What do you think the two curves labeled "Warm Day" and "Very Cold Night" represent?

The graph has nothing to do with day or night. Maybe I should have quoted you again.

Yes, it does. The orange curve at the bottom right corner indicates the type of emission curve the Earth has on a warm day, while the other is the curve the Earth has on a very cold night.

Yeah, had to quoate that bit of stupidity

It's not stupidity, it's the truth. It's not my fault if you believe in false things.

My references support me

No, they don't.

WV is a climate driver.

No, it's not. It's a climate feedback.
