But "gender identity" clearly doesn't mean "the fact of being the gender you are". Because "your gender identity" and "your gender" are, according to "trans", two entirely different things!

But it can also mean "a close similarity or affinity."

The word identity doesn't mean that, but it probably should. "Gender affinity" is actually a phrase that starts to make sense of "trans" people. If you were simply claiming you had an affinity for womanhood, that would be quite a reasonable kind of claim.

Claiming you're any kind of woman is the lie, though. The adjective "trans" does not modify "woman", it falsifies it.

If you sample 40 schergyns at random and they are all blarfled, then you can infer that most schnergyns are probably blarfled. That's, you know, how science works. It doesn't mean the schnergyns have to act blarfled. You've already made the observation that they are.
