How does teleportation work in your universe?

The Superhero World

Multiple methods of teleporting exist via superpowers. Leaper can blink from one place to another for dozens of meters, while Magician's means of teleportation is that he enters "overlapped space" when pressed between things. This works on other people too, but can only transfer through single objects or thirty feet. Magician can wait in this overlapped space for a while but cannot suspend somebody else because they'd be able to simply walk back out. Echo eventually gains the ability to transmit herself down objects of uniform density.

The Living Statue calling himself Hercules appears to teleport from place to place but in actuality it's a time based ability where he disconnects his actions from normal time for up to seven seconds and appears to shift instantly upon reconnecting. This is not quite impossible to differentiate from teleportation as an outside observer, but it is very difficult.

The Fantasy World

Teleportation is magic based and distance depends entirely on how good the mage is. A network of teleport plates also existed but this is a huge liability because stuff comes out if damaged.

It works by attempting to shift the target into the foundations of the spirit world, which cannot be entered by material objects. This will slingshot them into a location of their choosing if they're strong enough not to get put back exactly where they entered from. Spirit entities cannot teleport because they're native to the spirit world and as such will not get thrown back.
