Correct me if I go wrong anywhere in this comment, but this is my general understanding of how it all works

Te & Ti want things to logically make sense, but they have to different goals when it comes to applying logic

Te wants to adhere to the proven most effective method, they are applying logic to chase a predictable outcome. They love already existing procedures and rules

Ti doesn’t necessarily want to adhere to the proven method, we just want to do things the way that make the most sense to US not the masses. We apply logic to get the outcome we personally want, sometimes the Te way is the best way, other times we tweak it to make it work better for us as an individual

Say your driving home from work in the middle of the night and you pull up to a traffic light.

As a Ti dominant you would look and see that there’s nothing coming from any direction, the light ahead is red. But the light to your left just turned yellow a millisecond ago, which means there’s soon going to be a left turning arrow that you’d have to wait through for no reason, so you just go on through the red light anyways, and you felt next to 0 guilt for doing it.

Te would be in the exact same situation but instead of using Ti to think what the most efficient way is, they use Te and follow the traffic signals, it’s only a 20 second wait anyways, this is what your supposed to do by law, there’s no way you’ll get hit if you don’t go until it’s green. They would actually feel more guilty about running the light than we would.
