my guess as to who /u/ewk's programmer is, this person is neither sinister nor powerful and as far as I can tell is an intelligent and sensitive person, and I'm not particularly inclined to say anything more about this person

there is an element of deception when using an algorithm to interact with Reddit, but frankly there is nothing in Reddit's TOS that says anything about using your own intellect to interact, so the claim that an account's content is computer-generated is not an accusation of wrongdoing

I want to make this clear: I have not accused /u/ewk's programmer of wrongdoing, and I'm not inclined to do so. And frankly I'm not inclined to dissuade anyone from research, and one of the reasons I'm not being more forthcoming with my hypotheses surrounding the nature of /u/ewk is that this would, quite simply, spoil the fun.

I'm not inclined to spoil the fun. I'm not inclined to deter or dissuade anyone from research into automatic comment generation for Reddit or any other online service.
