How do famous climbers at Yosemite live the full summer there despite a 7 day camping limit?

Bingo. Doesn’t just go for BASE jumping. Watching Free Solo, Dawn Wall and Valley Uprising doesn’t mean you know better than every single person involved in the hobby.

Nor do I claim to.

I'm also not saying that anyone deserves special treatment because of their fame. I'm saying why don't they use their fame, the same way other "celebrities" have used theirs, to give back to their community / sport? Like Seth Rogan, who used his fame to testify before Congress for Alzheimer's research. Or Elmo, who testified in front of Congress for music education programs.

Look, I'm not trying to encroach on anyone's hobby. Any time I hear about the government throwing down more restrictions and making criminals out of regular people, I wonder why nobody is trying to undo what's been done. It's a national park, which means it's owned by the government. Well, last I checked we're not here to serve the government. So if we don't like how the government is doing things, then we tell them to change it. That's how things are supposed to work. Otherwise, we're subjects, not citizens.

What's the difference between living in Yosemite for free or living under a bridge for free? Besides tourists complaining I don't know what they did to get camping restricted. If it was just generally making a mess of things, that's easy enough to address. Clean up you garbage. If the climbers claim to love the natural splendor of Yosemite that should be easy enough to fix.

Just like so many other things, the government chips away at your freedom. First it's camping, then parachuting, then climbing.

TL:DR I'm just asking a question.
