How do you feel about the subreddit for exBaha'i ?

Many experienced this in my peer group in the United States, perhaps in your place and time it didn’t happen this way. By “automatically enrolled” I will clarify - it meant at some point your parents “registered” you as a child with the Bahai National Office. When you turned 15 you received a packet that said “welcome to the Bahai Faith” or something similar and you were added to the Bahai rolls as a youth. No one asked your “choice.” When you turn 21 you become eligible for voting and on the lists for Lsa and unit convention. You as a person never had to express any interest in the Bahai faith or affirm any belief. Yes membership is voluntary, if you write a letter to national saying you don’t believe in Baha’u’llah they might ask the local LSA or an auxiliary board member to meet with you. This might be a family member or friend coincidentally which makes for an awkward conversation. Then they can approve your disenrollment. Some youth’s parents threatened to kick them out of the house if they weren’t Baha’is.

To me that felt automatic. Maybe I used the word wrong.
