How Fortnite’s Success led to months of crunch at Epic

How is no one talking about the fact that these employees are getting paid 4x normal salary to work like this, and that they are making the choice to do so? If you work on a title like Fortnite and want to go work someplace with 40 hour work weeks for 1/3 or 1/4 the money, it isn't like you can't find another job. I'm shocked that part of the article merited only two tiny paragraphs buried in the middle:

"You are being paid more money than most people will ever make in their careers anywhere else. Your time is bought and accounted for; shut up, keep your head down, and do the work."

“Most employees don’t mind crunching if you are giving them three times their salary in bonuses."
