How the fuck do people even afford these homes?

Based on personal experience, they're probably just scraping by.

Two cousins purchased in 2019.

One's a truck driver and put down like 3.5 on a home almost 300. I'm sure he's okay, but doesn't have much room to fuck up.

Other purchased a duplex well over 300. Did 5% down. Put a lot of work into the unit he lives in. Other one has long term tenants. His issue is, has child support for two kids. He's like a handyman so does some work here and there on the side under the table in order to make ends meet.

Then there's my dumbass older brother. Has been at his job 10+ years making really good money for the type of work. Did not save up jack shit. Wanted to get a house March 2020, but wife didn't like it. I'm sure he would have been living paycheck to paycheck.

This shit is for sure going to backfire on some people.
