How fucked am I by wanting to be stronger than the average man?

So I’m a guy and this might be a controversial opinion but I think it’s a bad goal.

Firstly, you’re comparing yourself to men who don’t prioritize strength training. Let’s reverse the scenario, and said a guy wants to be better than an untrained female at gymnastics. How can you proud at beating someone who doesn’t care enough to train in the first place?

Secondly, there’s no risk in failure. Every goal should have no excuses, yet if you fail to improve your upper body strength then you can immediately fall back on the physical and hormonal imbalance. Find a strong female athlete and compare yourself to her (I’d suggest Meg Squats). That way if you fail you have nothing to blame but yourself.
