How fucking annoying...

If you're an addict, I think that you'll be more keenly aware of the massive amount of sexual imagery that surrounds us daily. Long before I knew that I had a problem, I would get frustrated at this. I couldn't stand how TV, movies, and video games especially were being overloaded with nudity and gratuitous sex. I often wondered why other guys were okay with this and even desired it because for me personally, I couldn't focus on anything until I had my fix after being initially set off by sexual imagery.

Now I realize that was part of my problem. Other guys can look at borderline pornography, enjoy it, and move on. For me, it always turned into hours of novelty seeking in order to quell my horniness. I think part of beating this addiction means learning to accept that sexual imagery will never go away, and we just need to control how we react when we're exposed to it. It is sort of unfortunate how much it has proliferated thanks to new technologies, but I'm hoping that I can learn to just deal with it some day.
