How do you guys discover reddit?

Hmm. I think it started off by accident? I was often linked to controversial/viral reddit posts/threads.. which made me slowly use it. Also online a lot of people were saying reddit is a much better site compared to 9GAG (yes, I used to be a "9gagger", embarrassing but whatever), so I slowly tried using it. At first, reddit's user interface was confusing, and ugly. But then I slowly loved it, especially when I found out the magical thing which is Reddit Enhancement Suite!

Anyway, I started trying to use it after being linked to viral threads etc. I check the frontpage maybe a couple times a day. Didn't really knew any sub-reddits. Just lurking the front page once in a while. Then it started getting addictive. I loved the interface, the humor, the comments, everything. I lurked the front page more and more. I lurked various sub-reddits. Slowly, I created my account and started submitting my own links/text posts and comments. I was officially a "redditor". I didn't have many friends to share this awesome website with, they either didn't get the concept of a site like this, didn't understand the humor, didn't like the site design -- basically they weren't the "ideal" target demographic, but were of appropriate age.

My first account has been shadow-banned though, which sucks. I submitted a link to a Vine video of a guy kicking a cat over to /r/videos. It of course caused massive rage and reached the front page of /r/videos. Shortly after, the original poster of that video at Vine removed the video, but I commented on that thread with mirrors to the video. When it hit the front page, people have already started to witch hunt the guy in the video.. which caused the reddit admins to act in regards to that. They hid my /r/videos submission, though you can still view the thread by entering the link. And since I commented with mirrors to the video, I was shadow-banned for "offering aid to a witch hunt".

Anyway, I sorta got off-topic but yeah.. it was nice to reminisce over the history of my early reddit days as well as the "death" of my first account :p
