How do you handle distress signals without getting attacked by the ones you're helping?

It's definitely faster and more exciting than mining a lump of shiny that's for sure, but requires some savvy inventory management between suit and ship (except on permadeth where u lose everything if u die).

At least, if the haul covers the repair costs...

While it might be smart to time sub-space travel between scan events, I'm a firm believer that i'm taking as many of those guys with me as I can when caught: https://youtu.be/MNmQw2Kboe8

Really sucks when you score a load of titanium or something and accidentally charge shields with your haul instead of the iron... What a waste of time... Better to simply die and get a fast track back to the station: https://youtu.be/TeBVgbibiMI

Ships are a great way to deal with planetside sentinals, too: https://youtu.be/8buUd_DK5g8

Unless you like taking on the walkers with the mining laser: https://youtu.be/zciF0itWLqc

Maybe I'll republish the unfinished steam guide on Surivial mode (it ain't just hiding in caves), it had a lot of views and comments before I took it down, as it had a big section on how much safer it was to earn bucks through piracy and ship to ship combat [around freighters].

It was kinda sad to see so many people not reach their ship in 10 minutes because they weren't making best use of the crafting and terrain and resources available.

Usually put the home base on a world with hostile sentinals, rare resources and as close to the freighters as possible. Not for the money, but because it's more fun for me to be constantly hunted down as well as surviving the game (upgraded boltcaster still sucks vs sentinals compared to starter laser, but gotta love them 'nades).

Mind, I'm the kind of player who likes to take on a nest of deathclaws with a switchblade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfksATHXaTs

Reckon it's because working mostly with stealth games that sometimes a bit of harcore action is good.

Yep, the art of piracy.

Been doing that since JMP'ing DOS .exe's ;P
