I'm sorry that happened to you! I honestly want to just elope haha, or have a tiny wedding and no one know I'm even seeing someone until way after the wedding. That's just my style.

Having people boycott your wedding sucks. Do you still know why? I actually did sit out one of the family member's weddings because of the stuff they were involved in and their parents were doing (which were really bad... like abuse level bad). I do feel really bad about not going but I was the one that kept going to events despite no one else actually being invited (I was one of three people in our extended family who was invited to the wedding...). But to be honest, people on the other side of the family have also behaved poorly, so it's just all too much to deal with at this point.
