As you get older, there is a transition that has to happen if you're high SMV: the girls come to you, instead of you going to the girls.

High SMV means even though your looks have faded, you still have wealth, status, and power. It means you have a good social life. You're invited to parties, you invite others to your parties, and that's where things happen. You have clout in the hottest places. You're cool, and known as such, which brings girls to you.

If you're not high SMV, then you're doing the approaching, you're trying to seduce girls, and take them home. They don't know who you are before you meet them, you have to demonstrate your value, and, if you haven't built much else because you've been relying on your looks, success will be harder to find with age.

Is it impossible to land young girls? No, but you'd have to be crazy to say it's not more difficult.
