I agree, but sometimes I part paragraphs and it actually isn't the next character, never long speeches, but sometimes they've have a bit of extended dialogue that needs divided for more suitable reading.

I've been told I can do "And I was like yeah I didn't like her attitude.

"But then I was like no its fine"

And just leave that""" open at the end after attitude, but meh, I still add a characters name when doing that so people don't skip that quotation and not notice its still the same dude.

Terrible example because you wouldn't be confused there but I'm to tired to write a better one my apologies, I was just saying, sometimes, maybe add a bit extra depending on the situation.
