How do you get a job without a degree?

Last time I got laid off, I was submitting about 20-40 applications per day.

I've tried this, and I just don't see how it's realistic.

If you're applying for 10 hours a day, you're looking at an application every 15 minutes. Let's say you take 3 minutes to read a job posting and check what sort of company it is, then 5 minutes to upload your resume and re-enter the details of your resume into their system because Taleo is evil. That means you're left with 7 minutes to write a cover letter individually tailored to the company and position you're applying to. I don't see how that's possible without using "form letter BS."

Anyone who says they submit 10-20 applications a day, I get it. But 40? Corners are getting cut somewhere.
