How to Learn

This is how I learned:

  1. Looked up guitar anatomy and basic terminology. What frets are, the bridge, string names in standard tuning etc. This will help you learn, its absolutely necessary to know the main parts of the guitar.

  2. Basic open guitar chords. Many Youtube videos cover these. The ones I first used were by "Guitareo". The 2 videos I started with specifically are "8 chords you must know" and "20 chords every guitar player needs to know".

  3. I highly recommend getting a notebook to help you starting out. Some things I wrote in mine were guitar anatomy and notes on how to read basic tabs and chords.

In summary, learn the basic guitar terminology, study and practice the basic chords like G, C, & D. And search some very beginner lessons on Youtube.

Oh, and imo the most important thing in my opinion, Do Whatever Makes You Want To Pick Up That Guitar Consistently. Many people try, and then give up. Find basic beginner songs to aim for, make the process FUN. If you get bored or frustrated, you will lose interest. Even 20 minutes a day is huge, just be consistent.
