There is a term in Economics called “Sunk Cost” fallacy. If you put an initial investment into a startup company that you believed would succeed but was tanking every year. Would you continue to keep investing more time, money and effort into the company or would you cut your losses there and invest it elsewhere? Just because you already put in the money and time for something does not mean you have to double down. You have the opportunity to pull out before you find yourself having spent another $2000 in Hearthstone and realizing that you no longer want to play the game.

If you’re still enjoying Hearthstone and like playing standard, then by all means, there’s nothing wrong with spending money on something you enjoy. But don’t hold onto being stuck playing the game just because of the investment you’ve already put into it.
