How to let go?

Two months is already amazing work, you should be really proud dude. ☺️ In a way, being sober is almost a counter-culture too which to me is an interesting way of looking at it. ✌️ People in their 20s in the u.k drink so much, it feels good to be doing things a bit differently.

Nice to have that extra money in the pocket and hangovers suck! What I’ve said to myself is aim for one year, saying I’ll never drink again is going to make it more difficult but I think setting a goal is useful. Maybe after a year I’ll have a drink, but hopefully in a more responsible / social way. The app was really good for setting milestones which made the first few months easier for me ☺️

I think the most admirable bit is being able to recognise when the negatives outweigh the positives and making the change, which you already have. Keep it up and you’ll noticing you feel way better about yourself and the relationship as time passes.

Sorry for going on a bit but I can relate to your situ, drinking and break ups are a recipe for a pretty depressing time. All the best in the future, I hope it goes well ☺️
