i did disney land paris first, just to get my grips because it's essentially one of the safest places still got a plane to there from the UK got the train to disney and looked around paris i loved it, i didn't stay out after dark it's still not within my comfort zone (i dont like clubbing either so that helps). Im planning milan/paris/amsterdam.

If you do shorter trips first and make sure you have someone you can talk to if your like shit where am i make sure your sim card will work in that country without charging you obsene amounts of money and definitely maps google maps restored my hope with anything even just driving 20 minutes away, it gives me a sense of i am going the right way
