How has living together with your significant other affected your regular sleep schedule?

I've lived with a few different partners who had different sleep schedules from me. I feel like I've been on both sides of the fence: having a more regular sleep schedule or a less regular sleep schedule.

When I was younger I just ate the difference when I lost sleep, and expected my partner to do the same.

Now I don't have the issue, as I'm not in a relationship, but last time I was my partner and I both wore earplugs and a mask when sleeping..

It's a little uncomfortable physically, but I don't notice that when I'm asleep. Mentally, as an extremely light sleeper when I'm not plugged and masked... It terrifies me on a certain level. The idea that I might not wake up from a creak in the floorboards... Sucks.

All of this said, I have some history waking up in scenarios where everything around me was going wrong, and it's made this difficult for me.

If you don't have the mental block I have, I assume a mask and earplugs would be a lot easier.
