How long into a relationship did you openly discuss about finance?

OK.. This is a great question and there is no right or wrong answer... But here is what we did.

Got together at 18, engaged at 20, married at 27. Both now 38.

We started speaking about finances when we got engaged, at this time still loving with parents. We started a joint savings account at this point and saved for out first home together.

We moved in when we were 22, we then put everything into joint accounts.. Still do it today.. Our salaries go into the same account and that is the money we live on, save and pay bills.

I earn triple what she does currently but that doesn't make any difference at all... What I earn is ours and what she earns is ours. This pays for the kids to do their clubs, our holidays and cars etc.

That worked and still works for us. Hope not bored and fallen asleep by this point too.
