How long will therapy make me nervous?

I used to take a few alcohol shots before my first sessions, I was nervous as hell. Completely on edge. Unable to sleep the night before. I don't know how long it lasted, but I remember talking about these nerves and the alcohol use helped me relax up. Now there are no nerves anymore, I look forward to our sessions. Excited to find out what will happen.

I vividly remember my T telling me "anything for your comfort" which really helped a lot. Took me half a year before I dared to ask if it was okay to take my shoes off. I also remember if I could just practice leaving the building so that I could feel I was free to leave at any point mid session.

Maybe you can think of something that would make you feel more comfortable there?
