Veteran hospitality industry here. I’m sorry. This makes me cringe so hard, because that was me sooooo many times. I once got asked in an interview if I’d ever applied for or received food stamps. And THAT shit was whack af. Don’t fuck around for an interview at a place that already treats you like a fucking servant/peasant. They did you a favor right there by showing you that’s not the place for YOU or ANYone. If you’re a masochist, you will LOVE the hospitality industry. But even if you are? Figure. Something. Else. Out. I’m in pharmacy now. It’s like an eight hour dinner rush rush with assholes who will still put their proverbial boot on your head, but at least I got funeral pay for the last week I had to tend to my dead brother.
