How I lost my rope and ended up hospitalized after an Ayahuasca Retreat

Strongly agree that a responsible harm reduction approach would have people first doing small dose mushrooms or something and then low dose aya then larger.

Strongly disagree about screening based on history of diagnosis. First you can't predict reliably, second many people with those diagnosis histories have been helped and we shouldn't deny them care, and fourth screening gives guides a false sense of safety that they don't need to learn about and prepare for outlier situations.

There is a false idea of the "full experience" and not "missing out" that pushes people too far too fast on high or stupidly named "heroic" doses. We really need to get beyond that of we are going to have responsible harm reduction use.

Thanks to the op and everyone who is sharing honestly about the downsides and risks.
