How many of you are ex-liberals...?

I was a liberal for ever, but I always loved the military and had respect for that side of things. I could never stand the anti military snark from Europeans and leftists, even though I was anti religious right and agreed with a fair amount of democratic positions.

I think in the end my sense of duty and the concept of sacrifice led me away from liberalism. I can't stand how they will never act out of moral fear, and center so much of their (current) ideology around emotion.

Sometimes people die in this world, and to move forward into a better future a lot of people are going to die in the coming decades.

Even Bill Clinton regrets falling victim to this regarding the African genocides in the 90s. Somalia ruined him. He listened to all his pussy foot advisors which led to the battle of Mogadishu and everyone freaking out over sub 100 casualties and some dead African militants...for this we took a policy of risk aversion which let multiple genocides happen and even nixed a 1998 mission to kill Osama.

A hundred years ago generations of men sacrificed themselves. I think we've all forgotten the reality of this world.
