How many of you despise IoT?

I can throw a pack of chicken or a roast in my APO and fuck off until it's done. It'll be cooked perfectly because I'm not relying on smell, time, or visuals, but actual data. I can tell it to hold it at a safe temperature if I'm busy or left for a few minutes. I've also got one of those robot vacuums that helps keep my place clean. I use connected lights to wake me up in the morning - I feel much better waking up to light compared an alarm.

During the week I have a maximum of 4-5 hours of free/personal time available per day, if everything goes well. I'm open technology that can reduce or eliminate jobs around the house, freeing me up to do productive things. Menial tasks that can be automated, should be automated.

Locks are where I draw the line though. I also hate ring but I'm not a home owner and it's basically the only option if you can't run cables. If anyone knows of a fully wireless, battery powered, self hosted/not cloud-connected, indoor/outdoor security camera system with motion detection and two way comms, I'd love to hear about it.
