How many female friends do you have, and how did those friendships come to be?

I am closest with my female friends. Currently three main friends, all separate friendships, but it isn't intentional.

The oldest friend and I worked together at a movie theatre in high school. We have drifted away from each other and back together a few times. She's gay and a lot like one of my guy friends. We've been through a lot together, know a lot about each other, feels destined to stay relatively close forever, but isn't necessarily my closest friend at a given time.

Middle friend is super introverted. Got to know each other she was in an opera I worked on. I hit on her a little, found out she had a boyfriend but kept talking, became really close friends anyway. We talked constantly for a year, and now its closer to every few days. We live 7 hours away from each other, so we can only really text. It's hard during covid because life is boring and there isn't much to talk about.

Third was a friend but not super close during college. She was mostly my friend's cute friend that was around sometimes. We got along but didn't see each other often. Pretty much everyone else we went to school with moved away, and we were two that stayed. Started talking more via snapchat, then getting lunch when I wasn't away with work. Now she's my best friend. We talk daily, see each other about once a month now, and I am in her wedding. Only odd thing is that we sometimes have conversations that make me realize we might have dated if she wasn't already engaged. She's happily getting married, and I am happy as only a friend, but sometimes it gets confusing in a deep part of my head.
