How many of you feminists here work in blue collar occupations?

I've worked in a variety of pink and blue collar industries. I still prefer blue collar jobs because they pay 2-3 times as much, although the sexual harassment fucking sucks there.

I think in the trades where men are more hostile towards women who invade "their space", the women who are more readily accepted by "The Guys" are the ones that have probably internalized a lot of toxic misogyny and misogyny of their own so they fit right in. It's either something they were raised to believe in or it's a survival strategy. It's a sign of piss poor leadership that toxic workplaces like that exist in the first place though.

You know, you're putting twice the effort than the guys are by hauling 50-85% of your body weight around. Of course it's freaking hard. The main thing is that you're of use in the field though, not being in the top 3 during some pack test. People who care about that are prioritizing all the wrong things. Are you protecting and serving the people? Then you deserve to be there.
