It depends on so many things. Age (additional meeting occurs for 0-3 in my state, for example), how often you have court, where the child is, how much of a bond you have with them, how cooperative the worker and foster parents are.

On my cases with 1 child, busy weeks (court, visiting, writing reports, talking to associated parties), I’d spend probably like 6-8 hours in a week. Everyone wants to get things done when court is approaching (including you) in addition to writing your report, so there’s a lot to get answers to, which can be hours of trying to contact the caseworker even, or talking with people (lawyers, parents, foster parents, doctors, therapists). There were weeks where nothing would happen and I wasn’t going to visit my child and spend 1-2 hours max.

My current case is 5 kids and between all of them I spend around 10 hours a week on average.
