How many years of experience is equivalent to a bachelor's degree?

LOL man there is a lot of salt and chest puffing in this thread.

Hard truth is you will likely never have a good understanding of CS if you don't get the degree.

Few things help you learn data structures and algoritims like making them up in 10 different languages. There is also a ton of nuance that is difficult to approach correctly in a self taught setting.

That is not to say you can't/won't learn this in a work setting. But it will take deliberate practice in and outside of work. Even then it's not guarenteed.

I've heard too many hiring directors comment on the knowledge gap between self taught and school taught.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a victim of hubris or a shitty cs curriculum.
