How do I move forward in my life? I am in a construction job making $11/hr, but it is not for me. I am 19 years old and have not gone to college

I did this at 20. It's a good way to make some money and for me, I travelled all the time and they paid all my bills. It wasn't for me, and the work was dangerous.

I did a year of college before that but it didn't work out, I was also young and dumb and didn't focus.

Personally I worked my way up at retail (RadioShack) learning consumer electronics and cell phones, moved from there into working for a cell phone company call center, got promoted to supervisor, and later moving into workforce management because I was great at Excel, one of the things I did learn in college. Later moved more into tech working on call center systems for a different job. I make good money now, last year (with the help of a ton of OT) I came pretty close to hitting 6 figures. The big thing is I took every job as an opportunity to learn everything I could, and I changed jobs every 3 years into something better. That's all sound advice and it worked.

You'd be better off (if you want to go the tech route) to learn online and try to get some money to get certs. An A+ certificate would get you a job as a freelance field tech guy for a big company like Dell, and that'll open doors to other things. My Excel skills would have landed me a $20/hr contract offer as a reports analyst for IBM, but I turned it down for this (and make more, so that's not bad). Certifications and having tech skillsets will get you in a lot of places with no degree, and you can get a lot of the training for free.
