How was the move in today?

At Forbes it was a breeze. I have never seen such an easy move (I live in a major uni town). The one-parent at a time thing is a royal pain, and there was a multi- step process to get your Panther Card activated so you could get into the room, but those were navigable.

Before carrying stuff up, go make sure your card works. They have carts for moving that work well (I brought a Dolly and mostly used that, but we packed in boxes to make the move efficient).

They left both sets of furniture in the room (double), so if you were expecting to have one set, you might want to re-plan. One parent said Panther Central told them you could request maintenance move furniture out (bed), one said that maintenance wouldn't (desk+bed request).

Staff was very friendly. The hour limit on parking seemed strict, but I didn't test it. We arrived 30 min early and they let us start right away. Parent(s) were no longer allowed up after 6pm.

Some RAs were active with the students (zoom mtg last night) one or two didn't hear anything from their RAs (in other dorms) and met their pod-mates on their own.

FYI - You get one wrist band for a parent to help. Bring some tape so you can swap if you have two parents (that's allowed). We cheated, old-school concert style - my wife went up with my daughter for the first load of stuff, then daughter came out alone with the wrist band in her pocket and I brought up stuff while wife stayed so she and DD could set up the room. There were enough people moving in that nobody to noticed the swap or hide-out (or they didn't care).
