How much daylight are you gaining this March?

Correct, you would get more daylight in the afternoon, but you also have to look at the whole picture. So for Wisconsin, the sunrise would be 7:30 (or 8:30 permanently on DST), but in places like Detroit, or Seattle, their sunrise wouldn't be until 9 a.m.

We also used to observe DST year-round in the 70s, but so many people complained about it, they switched it back. I think the reasoning was that people were depressed about it being so dark for so long in the morning.

Although I never was around for it, I can relate to it being depressing because I know next week when the time changes it will be depressing with how dark it is in the morning. It will suck for another month in the mornings until sunrise is before 7.

So if we permanently went on DST for the entire year, it would suck for 6 months out of the year in the morning, instead of just three months out of the year.
