How much money is everyone saving per month?

I don't put much in my pension just the 3% that goes in from my paycheck with salary sacrifice. As for personal savings it depends. Once bills are paid can put away about £700 a month leaving £500 for the food and petrol and other bits like a takeaway now and then and gifts for people. I say usually but it never stays in savings, we have been doing work on the house and i have been splurging on shoes recently and had a few holidays this year so my savings is not as high as it probably should be.

I used to work on the principle of a 3 way split. 3rd to the bills account, 3rd to savings and a 3rd to live off which worked quite well however as my wage has crept up the amount going to savings has with it - well it did until i decided to spend it! I need to get back in the habit of once its in savings its not accessible but as long as my savings does not go under what it was the previous month i'm not too fussed at the minute which is a nice place to be in.
